Strategic Priorities — Focusing on ROI, Member Education, and Service Growth
We have been developing a strategic plan to drive our future growth and we are narrowing our focus to three high-impact priorities. These areas will guide our decision-making and investments moving forward:
- Return on Investment (ROI) for member districts:
We are committed to making the financial and instructional value of our services clear and actionable for districts. Work underway includes refining cost‑savings calculations, tracking program outcomes, and developing a concise ROI report that may be utilized in local decision‑making and budget conversations. Our goal is to provide data and tools that make it easy to see the return on your partnership with us.
- Marketing and member education about services and benefits:
Many members have told us they want simpler ways to learn about and access our services. We are redesigning outreach to be more intentional and audience‑specific, improving website navigation, and coordinating communications across newsletters, email, and social channels. Our goals are to have clearer messaging, consistent language about benefits, and targeted campaigns to help the right staff know what’s available and how to get started.
- Addition of services:
Based on feedback and regional needs, we are evaluating potential new services that could expand our support. Any new offerings will be assessed for impact, sustainability, and alignment with our mission to strengthen student outcomes and district capacity.
We appreciate your partnership and stay committed to providing the clarity and support essential to your district’s success.

May is Mental Health Month
|
|
As we head into the final stretch of the school year, May arrives as a timely reminder to pause and check in with ourselves during Mental Health Month. While external pressures often put a heavy premium on academic success of students, this month serves as a vital call to refocus on the whole child. Mental health is just as essential as physical health for everyone, including you, the school counselor. This month, we encourage you to lead by example: prioritize your own care just as strongly as you advocate for your students. In a world that demands results, remember that your well-being is the foundation those results are built upon.

Phil Misecko
Superintendent
Hanover Community
School Corportaion
|
|
|
After four years of dedicated service to the Hanover Community School Corporation, Phil Misecko is preparing for an exciting new chapter as he steps into the role of superintendent this coming July. Phil's journey within the district began as the Principal of Jane Ball Elementary School. After a successful first year, he transitioned to Assistant Superintendent of PreK-12 Curriculum and Instruction, a position he has held for the past three years.
For Phil, the heart of Hanover’s success lies in its people. He credits the district's deeply passionate staff and talented leaders for inspiring excellence every day. This internal dedication is matched by a highly engaged community of families who hold high expectations for their children, continually pushing the district to raise the bar. Coupled with the district's excellent school buildings and athletic facilities, this strong partnership between the schools and the community provides an environment where both students and staff can truly thrive.
Since joining the administrative team, he has maintained a focus on student achievement. "We have been carefully analyzing student achievement data and working to identify and implement the right resources and supports for both students and staff to ensure continued growth and success." Hanover has expanded its Career and Technical Education (CTE) offerings, giving students more pathways to explore their interests and prepare for life after graduation. Looking forward, the district is preparing to launch the Indiana College Core next year to boost college readiness and credit attainment. Concurrently, Phil has been leading his team in navigating new state legislation, actively strategizing to mitigate any potential negative impacts of SEA1 on the school community.
The most rewarding aspect of Phil’s job remains the relationships he builds daily with students, staff, and the community. Hanover is a special place, filled with responsible, engaged, and supportive people who genuinely care about one another and about the success of our schools.
What makes those relationships so meaningful is the shared purpose behind them. Working collaboratively with staff, families, and community members to prepare our students for their future is incredibly fulfilling. Knowing that the work we do together gives every child the best possible opportunity for success drives me and reminds me why I chose this profession and why it is a blessing and an honor to work at Hanover.
His greatest goal and dream for this corporation is simple at its core: to help every single student reach their full potential. Phil wants our students to leave Hanover prepared and confident, ready to succeed in whatever path they choose, whether that is college, a career, the military, or something else entirely.
"We are not here to funnel students into one predetermined direction. We are here to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and character they need to thrive in the life they envision for themselves. If we can accomplish that, if we can look at each graduating class and know that we gave every one of those young people their best possible opportunity, then we will have done our job well."
When Phil am not at work, you will most likely find him spending time with his family. He also enjoys getting outdoors as much as possible, whether that means hitting the golf course, going for a walk, or heading out on a camping trip. "There is something about being outside that helps me recharge and reset." He also loves to read, which he find keeps him both relaxed and continuously learning.
