Report Phishing/Spam Emails
|
|
Please be extra vigilant when opening emails, as we have seen a recent spike in spam and phishing attempts. Avoid clicking on suspicious links or downloading unexpected attachments—even if the sender appears familiar. Never pay for anything offered via email with a gift card or bitcoin, these offers are ways to scam you out of money. If you receive a questionable message, please report it using the “Phish Alert ” button in Outlook. This button reports spam/phishing emails to the KnowBe4 security system and Microsoft simultaneously, while also removing the email from your inbox. This is the preferred method of reporting phishing to ensure the anti-phish/anti-spam engine is trained to recognize that it incorrectly categorized the email. In the case of harmful phishing emails, reporting it helps to take further actions to protect others that may have received the same email.

We have three wireless networks on campus:
- ccsu-bluenet - this is the primary wireless network for your computers and mobile devices (phones, tablets). Connect your device to ccsu-bluenet and log in with your Central email address and password.
- ccsu-public - this is the wireless network for gaming/streaming devices in the residence halls and for campus guests who do not have a BlueNet account. Register your gaming/devices first via MyDevices (see below). Campus guests may request a guest account once they connect to ccsu-public.
- eduroam - this is a worldwide roaming wireless access service developed for, and used by, the education community. More Information on eduroam.
Returning students, please note that over the summer, IT applied the annual update to the certificate for the ccsu-bluenet and eduroam wireless networks. Your devices, especially Apple computers, iPhones, and iPads (CCSU-owned or personal), may prompt you to "Trust" the new certificate when you return to campus. Press "Trust" and your device will automatically reconnect.

Living on Campus? Register Your Gaming and Streaming Devices
|
|
Identify the wireless MAC address of the device and register it on MyDevices:
- Login to MyDevices with your Central Office 365 email account
- Add your MAC address as one of your registered devices. A MAC address consists of a combination of 12 digits or letters (a-f), usually separated by colons. Example: “ab:cd:ef:12:34:46”
How to Find My MAC Address
- Then connect your device to "ccsu-public" WiFi. This network should be open, you should not need authenticate other than registering it on MyDevices. If at first you cannot connect, try restarting your device.
