Executive Director Notes

Spring Break Reflections and End‑of‑Year Encouragement

I hope you were or will be able to enjoy some time away during your spring break to relax, rest, and recharge.

As we move through the final months of the 2025–2026 school year, I know your days will be full — assessments, field experiences, planning for 2026–2027, and the inevitable “surprises” that come with being in a school district. Thank you for your steady leadership and dedication.

Keep doing the great work for your students, staff, and communities. If there’s anything the service center can do to support you during this busy season, please reach out.

School Counseling

Launching the 7th Grade Graduation Plan

To better support long-term student success, a new indicator has been added to the final Accountability Model for seventh graders. With the support of our school counselors, students can begin identifying their interests earlier, allowing them to confidently and intentionally select the high school pathway that fits them best and sets the stage for postsecondary success.

Indiana Code establishes the required elements of a graduation plan. Look for “more guidance to come” from the IDOE.

Chris Bajmakovich
Superintendent
Lake Ridge Schools

For Superintendent Chris Bajmakovich, Lake Ridge Schools isn’t just a workplace—it’s home. Having received his entire K-12 education within the district, Chris has spent the last 13 years giving back to the community that raised him. His professional journey through the corporation has been extensive, serving in vital leadership roles including High School Principal, Assistant Principal, Dean of Students, and Athletic Director. This deep-rooted history provides him with a unique perspective and a profound appreciation for the community’s commitment to its students. "It is an honor to serve the school system where I grew up," Chris shares, noting that the deep-seated care the community has for its schools is what truly makes Lake Ridge special.

Since stepping into his current role in January, Chris has been laser-focused on the district’s foundational health. His days are dedicated to assessing financial stability, strengthening staffing infrastructure, and identifying key areas to boost student achievement. For Chris, the most rewarding aspect of the job is the ability to act as a high-level team builder and problem solver. He views his position as a platform to inspire the entire "Lake Ridge Team" to maintain a service-based mindset, ensuring that every staff member—regardless of their specific role—remains dedicated to the success of the students.

Looking toward the future, Chris’s vision for the corporation is one of continuous evolution. He is driven by a "dream" of constant improvement, specifically focusing on elevating student achievement, refining staff recruitment and retention, and fostering a deep sense of pride among students, staff, and the local community.

When he isn’t navigating the complexities of school administration, Chris stays grounded through a disciplined and creative personal routine. You can find him at the gym every morning before work, and in the evenings, he prefers the tactile joy of playing his accordion over the digital distractions of social media or Netflix. Above all, he treasures the time spent with his family, fueled by the same spirit of service he brings to Lake Ridge every day.
