POST OF THE WEEK: 🎓🎓🎓 Congratulations, BCS Class of 2026!
 
On football fields and inside convention centers, about 1,485 BCS graduates walked across the stage and received their high school diplomas over the last couple of weeks. We are all very proud of their accomplishments and look forward to their success as they #LeadTheClimb in our community and beyond!

As the final bell rang on another incredible school year, our teachers gathered in the bus parking lot to wave goodbye and send our students off into summer! ☀️🚌

It has been a year filled with learning, growth, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime. We are so proud of all our Warriors and grateful for the amazing families and staff who made this year special.

➕ As the school year wound down, students at North Windy Ridge Intermediate School had one last special assignment - gathering to celebrate their teacher, Marilynn Whitcher, as the Buncombe County Schools Elementary Math Teacher of the Year.

🥔 A BCS graduate is now embarking on an international adventure to help families in need. Michael Schruckmayr of Nesbitt Discovery Academy is one of just 13 students from around the world selected for an international internship through the World Food Prize Foundation.

🚌 Parents and students at Fairview Elementary participated in the Bus Wash, a Dads Club event meant to show appreciation for bus drivers by helping them complete their end-of-year checklist.

🏅 Two Buncombe County Schools Educators - Brian Carver and David Ball - have been honored by the North Carolina High School Athletics Association Foundation for their far-reaching legacies.

🔎 At the school board meeting on June 4, BCS Superintendent Dr. Rob Jackson announced his plan to retire on Aug. 31, 2026. The Board has now started its search for the next BCS Superintendent.
