SCHOOL POST OF THE WEEK: BCS Virtual Academy
On May 2, students closed their laptops for the day and took a field trip to Gaining Ground Farm, a local vegetable farm that plays an important role in our community by supplying fresh produce to area farmer’s markets and restaurants. The visit was both educational and hands-on, giving students a firsthand look at where their food comes from and what it takes to grow it.
One of the highlights of the trip was seeing the garlic harvest in progress. Students rolled up their sleeves and joined in, helping to clean and prepare freshly harvested garlic for drying and storage, a surprisingly satisfying (and aromatic) task!
