POST OF THE WEEK: 🧮💡 T.C. Math Teacher Juan Bolanos Marion Earns National Educator Honor

A passion for teaching and commitment to students has earned Juan Bolanos Marion, a math teacher at T.C. Roberson High School, a prestigious national honor.

Juan was recently selected as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by the National Society for High School Scholars, an award that recognizes exemplary educators whose dedication and passion leave a lasting impact on their students. What makes the recognition especially meaningful is that Juan was nominated by one of his own students - an authentic testament to the influence he has inside the classroom.

As a math teacher, Juan is known for going beyond formulas and equations, helping students build confidence, critical thinking skills, and a belief in their own abilities. His commitment to excellence and his genuine care for student success inspire learners not only to grow as scholars, but also as leaders and responsible citizens.

SCHOOL POST OF THE WEEK: Valley Springs Middle School

VSMS 8th grader, Lexi McGrath, created and submitted this beautiful artwork to the 2026 NC Department of Transportation Aviation art contest. This year's theme is "Fly to Save Lives." Lexi imagined how aviation can help save lives with this fire rescue drawing. Last year Lexi participated in the contest and won 6th place out of over 1000 entries. We are so proud of her hard work and willingness to participate in these prestigious competitions!
