Teaching Faculty - Please Submit Your Fall Classroom Software Requests
The IT department has updated all campus classrooms to the new Windows 11 and macOS operating systems. This upgrade requires us to reinstall specialized software, such as Minitab, BlueJ, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other discipline-specific software. Standard software such as SPSS, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft OneDrive are installed by default. If you need specialized software installed in your classroom for Fall, please submit your classroom software requests via the Software Installation for Classrooms and Labs form in the IT Service Request system.

Report Phishing/Spam Emails
Please be extra vigilant when opening emails, as we have seen a recent spike in spam and phishing attempts. Avoid clicking on suspicious links or downloading unexpected attachments—even if the sender appears familiar. If you receive a questionable message, please report it using the “Phish Alert ” button in Outlook. This button reports spam/phishing emails to the KnowBe4 security system and Microsoft simultaneously, while also removing the email from your inbox. This is the preferred method of reporting phishing to ensure the anti-phish/anti-spam engine is trained to recognize that it incorrectly categorized the email. In the case of harmful phishing emails, reporting it helps to take further actions to protect others that may have received the same email.

Scheduled System Maintenance
---|
Every Thursday at 11:59 PM, important updates are sent to all CCSU-owned Windows and Mac computers. To ensure these updates install properly, please save your work and sign out before ending your day. Leave your computer powered on, plugged in, and connected to the internet, whether you're on or off campus. If updates aren’t applied overnight, your computer may be temporarily unusable the next time you log in, and interrupting the update process could lead to system issues requiring repair.

Sunday System Maintenance
Every Sunday from 12am-12pm all systems (e-mail, Central Pipeline, wireless, etc.), will be intermittently unavailable while important maintenance and updates are performed.
