A Community Strengthened by Engagement
As we look ahead to the upcoming USCIPP Annual Meeting, I am reminded that the strength of NCHL comes from the members who actively contribute their time, expertise, and leadership to our shared work.
This year’s meeting is a wonderful example. Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Penn Medicine are generously co-hosting the event, helping create an opportunity for our international programs community to connect, learn from one another, and explore the issues shaping global healthcare.
To our colleagues at CHOP and Penn Medicine, thank you for your partnership and engagement. Your willingness to bring people together reflects what makes the NCHL community so special: members who do more than participate. They help move the work forward.
I hope you will join us for this year’s USCIPP Annual Meeting. To learn more and register, please visit the link below.

Advancing Healthcare Leadership Competency Model 4.0 Research
|
|
NCHL continues to advance the field of healthcare leadership science through the ongoing evolution of the Healthcare Leadership Competency Model, strengthening the evidence base and translating research into practical tools leaders can apply across healthcare settings.
In partnership with Korn Ferry, the Healthcare Leadership Competency Model 4.0 research initiative has completed the national survey phase and is currently progressing through stakeholder interviews and focus groups with healthcare leaders and academic partners across the field.
The refreshed model remains on track for validation and presentation at the 2026 NCHL Leadership Excellence Summit in Chicago, Illinois on November 17, 2026.
Thank you to the many members and partners contributing their expertise and perspectives to help shape the future of healthcare leadership.

From Destination Healthcare to Distributed Expertise
Healthcare expertise has never been more specialized, yet access to that expertise remains uneven. As leading health systems look beyond their physical footprint for growth, many are adopting digital access strategies that connect patients and providers with specialized clinical expertise regardless of geography.
Rather than relying solely on traditional destination healthcare models, organizations are creating direct digital pathways for patient intake, medical record collection, case review, and physician consultation. These programs can improve access for patients while helping health systems expand referral networks, strengthen service lines, and better utilize scarce specialist resources.
Success requires more than technology alone. High-performing programs align legal strategy, targeted marketing, operational efficiency, and measurable financial outcomes. Emerging technologies, including AI, can further support scalability by organizing complex medical information and reducing administrative burden.
Purview's recent integration with HealthMark advances this vision by combining digital access capabilities with medical record and imaging exchange, making it easier for providers to collaborate and connect patients with the right expertise.
As healthcare leaders plan for the future, a key question remains: How far can your organization's expertise travel?

Purview, now part of HealthMark, helps health systems build and scale digital access programs that connect patients with specialized expertise from anywhere. Our platform brings the entire process into one place, from patient intake and medical record collection through case management, imaging, and physician review, now strengthened by HealthMark's release-of-information capabilities.
