POST OF THE WEEK: πŸ¦ƒπŸ₯§πŸ‚ Schools Celebrate with Gratitude Meals

In cafeterias throughout Buncombe County Schools, a special lunch unites friends and families to reflect on what’s meaningful in their lives.

During November, schools schedule the Gratitude Meal, with a traditional holiday menu that includes turkey, mashed potatoes, and apple crisp. At elementary schools, it’s often a meal that brings families to participate in part of the school day and share lunchtime with their students. The Gratitude Meal is also a special day for BCS high school students, who’ve marked the tradition since kindergarten. At Buncombe County Early College and the Buncombe County Center for Career Innovation, students are thankful to have their own cafeteria space in their school building. Students had previously used a shared space on the A-B Tech campus.

🐏🎡 Ram Student Spotlight! 🎡🐏

We’re incredibly proud of Dean Norvell, who recently auditioned for and earned 2nd chair baritone in the BCS All-County Middle School Band! πŸ‘πŸŽΊ

Dean was the ONLY sixth grader in all of Buncombe County to make the band — an amazing accomplishment! Mr. White, our band director, and all of us at Koontz are so proud of the dedication and hard work Dean put into preparing for his audition. Such an impressive accomplishment!

Dean will take part in a two-day clinic, culminating in a concert on Thursday, November 20th at North Buncombe High School. He’s also setting his sights on All-District Band auditions in January! 🎢

Way to go, Dean — your Ram Fam is cheering you on every step of the way! πŸ’™πŸ’›
