POST OF THE WEEK: 🥇 Enka High’s Caleb Harbin Surprised as BCS Assistant Principal of the Year

By 8:14 a.m., Enka High School assistant principal Caleb Harbin had already had a busy morning. It wasn’t unusual when he got a call on his radio to “come help with a situation in the bus lot.” The "situation" he found upon exiting the building, was a crowd clapping and cheering, that included BCS leaders, students, teachers, his fellow administrators, and his family.

“Mr. Harbin, we’re here to share the good news that your colleagues across the Buncombe County Schools system have chosen you as the BCS Assistant Principal of the Year,” shared BCS Superintendent Dr. Rob Jackson. “We thank you for everything you do for your students and colleagues.”

SCHOOL POST OF THE WEEK: A.C. Reynolds High School

Sage Roscoe’s mural stops you in your tracks. In bold green and gold, “BUILDING OUR FUTURE” crowns a gleaming rocket as real A.C. Reynolds seniors kneel, reach, and paint the word “FUTURE,” their focus and camaraderie giving the scene its heartbeat, with one wrist proudly wearing a Craigtown Strong bracelet that anchors the piece in our community’s resilience. Sage, now a senior at the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem and a proud product of Reynolds District schools, created this piece to give something meaningful back to the community that poured so much into her. We are immensely proud of Sage and truly impressed by her artistry. It champions our high expectations in all that we do and the many opportunities that let every Rocket turn potential into purpose. No matter where her talent takes her, she will always be a Rocket. Sage’s artwork now joins the many incredible pieces spread throughout our building that highlight Rocket Pride!!🚀✨ #acrhsrockets #rpi #publicschoolproud #biggreencountry
